Score 92/100 · Drink 2011-2025, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Jan 2020

The 2005 Hermitage has a stern edge to its tannins even now. Leather and roasted red berries appear on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is clearly concentrated and ripe, just also firm, with wooly tannins on the lingering finish.

100% Marsanne Tangy and lively on the nose. Quite rich and with lots of body. Honeysuckle. Lively and long with lots of fruit. Real depths. (JR)
