Score 88/100 · Robert Parker, Apr 2007

This is another young turk in Cote Rotie. He uses minimal SO2 and bottles after about 24 months of barrique aging with no filtration. His 2004s are relatively successful in this challenging vintage. The 2004 Cote Rotie Coteaux de Tupin is essentially similar in style to the regular bottling, elegant, with sweet cherries and raspberries intermixed with tapenade, new oak, smoke, and spice. The wine has a tartness that is present in the vintage, but it is not annoying or out of place given the wine’s concentration and freshness. Importer: Vineyard Expressions, Ithaca, NY; tel.
