The 2010 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a forward, lively, quite tertiary bouquet with dark berry fruit, black tea and light ferrous scents. Fine definition, perhaps a little rustic compared to subsequent vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with irony red fruit. Fine grip, a little rustic in style with a savoury, slightly austere finish. This is perfect to drink now.

Quite a deep crimson. Sweet, heady nose. Very flattering and rich. Vibrant and long. Very sweet. A tiny bit candified. Lots of acid and tannin tucked in there. (JR)
