Deep red-ruby. Aromas of black cherry, smoked meat and menthol, with some suggestions of superripeness. Fat on entry, then quite closed in the middle palate, showing less sweetness and early personality than the Cazetiers. Very long on the aftertaste but this distinctly backward, firmly tannic wine also showed some dryness with aeration. Very tough to taste today, and less harmonious than it was from barrel a year ago. Serafin said that this holding was at least lightly hit by three separate hail storms in August.

Bright red-ruby. Superb nose combines musky black cherry, minerals, mocha and flowers. Dense, lush and sweet, offering a lovely combination of sappiness and silky texture rare for the year. Very light on its feet, thanks to perfectly integrated acidity. Finishes very long, with fine-grained tannins.
