Score 91/100 · Allen Meadows, Burghound, Apr 2015

The rich and ripe flavors are backward, tight, structured and while ultra intense, concentrated and superbly long, it's clear that this is still a complete infant. My concern is more that the finish is moderately drying and it's not clear that the structure is going to resolve before the fruit will though given how youthful everything about this wine is, it's possible that it will come together in time. Another bottle was marred by a distinctly acidic finish so it's honestly hard to say which is the "true" '93 Charmes. In both cases however, this is at least 5 to 10 years away from being ready.
