Red-ruby. Reticent but pure, complex aromas of red fruits, game, smoke and nutty oak. Sweet, deep and vinous, with a lovely layered texture. The deepest, chewiest wine in the cellar, with plenty of density of material to buffer the ripe tannins. This bottling can be an early fruit bomb, but today this shows more smoked meat, espresso and oak than primary fruit. Impressively long on the aftertaste.
