Tasting notes
Good deep red. Very ripe aromas and flavors of plum, black cherry, coffee and chocolate. A bit of a shock to the palate after the sappier 2010s I tasted here but for all its fleshiness and pliancy, solid minerality and a violety high note give it surprising lift. Finishes with supple, building tannins and lingering sweetness of fruit.

Very fruity and 2009 and dense. Still pretty tough on the end. Chewy. Nothing of the ethereal quality of the Gevrey 2009s I tasted en masse yesterday. (JR)
Deep ruby-red. Very ripe aromas of black fruits, violet, licorice and dark chocolate; an essence of Vosne-Romanee. Then juicy, tight and penetrating, with sound acidity framing the black and purple fruit and violet flavors. Finishes with firm tannic spine and a strong element of torrefaction.
Dark crimson. Some rather sweet oak on the nose. Juicy fruit with some sap but an overlay of this sweet spiciness – perhaps because they used so much new oak? 50% in 2009 for this cuvée. Rather dry finish. (JR)
