Tasting notes
Initially this was not that expressive and I found myself searching for the fruit but then it opened out to gorgeousness with really bright fruit underneath its reserve. More 1998 than Leroy? (JR)

Ruby-red. Musky raspberry and a suggestion of lees on the nose. Juicy, intensely flavored and sharply delineated, though rather tightly wrapped today due to brisk, ripe acidity. Still, the wine silky texture is plain to see. Very subtle and long on the aftertaste. These vines, like those in Fremières, are 50 to 60 year old.
About the producer

For many, Domaine Leroy represents the pinnacle of fine Burgundy. Owned and run by the legendary Lalou Bize-Leroy, the domaine in Vosne-Romanée is one strand of the Leroy empire, along with Maison Leroy and Domaine d’Auvenay.
