Score 88/100 · Drink 2022-2034, Neal Martin, Mar 2023

The 2010 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru has a tightly-wound, rather static nose with loamy red fruit. It is just missing some cohesion, with undergrowth scents emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with stocky tannins, robust and Morey-like for a Chambolle. It coheres towards the finish, though overall, it is just missing swagger and, no pun intended, charm.

Smoky, slightly peppery nose. Lovely sweetness on the mid palate. Refined, dry, firm but finely textured.
