Tasting notes
This property has been on a hot streak of late. The 2005 is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc from the limestone plateau of St.-Emilion. Offering raspberry and black cherry fruit intermixed with licorice and chalky notes, the wine is full-bodied, with great texture, purity and depth. This is a serious, elegant yet, at the same time, powerful wine. Drink it over the next 10-15+ years. A sleeper of the vintage.

Medium ruby. High-toned aromas of black cherry, dark chocolate and licorice. Lush and sweet but quite primary, with firm acids giving shape to the black cherry and brambly dark berry flavors. Just a tad hard today. Finishes with firm tannins and lingering notes of licorice and black fruits.
Very dark but clean fresh fruit – quite intense. Taken to the limit of intensity and pretty brutal acidity and tannin but there is some refreshment here. A bit bitter on the finish so not the finest. (JR)
