Score 90/100 · Drink 2004-2010, Pierre Rovani, Feb 2004

Produced from 60-year-old vines, the boldly aromatic 2002 Puligny-Montrachet La Garenne explodes from the glass with white flowers and spices. Light to medium-bodied, satiny-textured, and deep, it coats the palate with fresh herbs, limestone, and pears. It should be consumed over the next 5-6 years. Sweet start. A bit tarty, but lots of obvious appeal. A distinct hint of coffee beans on the finish. (JR)
