Deep red. Aromas of smoked meat, roasted herbs, mocha, underbrush and mellow oak. Sweet and fat but a bit facile. Offers a smoky richness but comes across as a bit rustic and earthy, beyond the primary fruit stage. Tannins seem a tad dry. Still, the finish shows more grip than the 2003 version.

(from a crop level of less than 30 hectoliters per hectare, according to Forrestier) Deep ruby-red. Bright, pure aromas of black cherry, flowers and mint. Rich, broad and generous, with black fruit and licorice flavors and good life in the mouth. The fruit in this very warm vineyard was picked on the first day of the harvest, with sound acids. Finishes with very good length and sweet tannins. A sentimental favorite today.

Impressively deep crimson. Very rich, spicy nose. Intense. Great fruity impact. Just a slight lack of concentration. (JR)
