Score 91/100 · Drink 2012-2018, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Oct 2010

The 2009 Block 1 Riesling is also medium-dry with 9.5% alcohol. It has quite a chalky/talcum powder scented nose with supporting notes of lemongrass, lime leaf and grapefruit zest. Light bodied, there’s great tension in the mouth with intense flavors waiting to spring forth. It finishes very long. Consider drinking this one from 2012 to 2018+. Winemaker Blair Walter continues to work his magic with the recent releases from Central Otago’s most famous Estate. There’s not a wine less than excellent in the bunch, but these days it would be more of a story if there was. Importer: Wilson Daniels Ltd., St. Helena, CA; www.wilsondaniels.com
