Score 92/100 · Drink 2015-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2014

The 2005 Meursault Bouchere has a stern, mineral nose that is moving into secondary aromas with almond, touches of fennel, mint and dried apricot. The palate is well balanced with moderate complexity, hints of dried honey just coming through, although it finishes just a little brusquely. This is still quite closed and deserves a couple more years in bottle and then it may well deserve a higher appraisal.

Subdued nose hints at hazelnut. Concentrated, sweet and suave, with aromas of exotic mandarin orange and hazelnut. In a very ripe style, even a bit youthfully aggressive today despite possessing sound acidity. The fruit here is a bit more exotic than that of the '06. But this was picked on the first day of the harvest, notes Roulot.

(from grapes harvested early) Very ripe aromas of soft citrus fruits and vanilla. Rich, fat and voluminous, but with good energy for this premier cru. Dry in a positive way. Finishes persistent and suave, with soft citrus flavors and nutty oak.
