Score 87/100 · Drink 2002-2012, Robert Parker, Apr 1999
The 1996 Trotte Vieille appears to be a step up for this St.-Emilion premier grand cru. Soft and elegant, it possesses nicely integrated smoky new oak along with blackberry and cherry fruit. It is medium-bodied, with excellent purity, and a nicely-textured, stylish finish. This will be a 1996 to enjoy at an early age. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2012.
