Bitter and seems almost burnt on the nose. Similar on the palate. (JH)
Fabulous aromatics of graphite, melted licorice, black truffles, and cassis suggest something profound, but on the palate, the wine does not follow through. Slightly clipped and monolithic, but still very good, this mid-weight Margaux possesses terrific aromatics, but not the flavor/concentration/depth to match the evolved bouquet. Drink it over the next 10-12 years.
Mid crimson. Lots of vegetation on the nose and slightly aggressivey green on the palate. Not charming! (JR)
About the producer
This Fourth Growth estate has been owned by the same family (the Sénéclauzes) since 1936. Over the last 25 years, later picking, a higher level of sorting and modern winemaking has fine-tuned the quality.
