Score 90/100 · Drink 2000-2015, Robert Parker, Apr 1995

The outstanding 1990 Chianti Rufina Riserva Bucerchiale is a backward, but profound example of Chianti at its finest. The wine exhibits a dense, opaque, garnet/ruby color, and a huge nose of roasted herbs, nuts, and sweet black-cherries intertwined with scents of licorice and earth. Extremely full-bodied with moderate tannin and layers of concentrated fruit, this superb Chianti requires 3-5 more years of cellaring. A classic! Anticipated maturity: 2000-2015.
