Crimson with some evolution. Quite evolved but with interesting tarry, warm-bricks notes on the nose. Fresh, just medium bodied. A little angular on the end but with real vitality. (JR)

Very dark. Tea leaf aromas. Rather austere on the palate. Correct. Very drying finish. Just slightly too muted and low key for a higher mark. (JR)
This strong effort exhibits resiny pine forest notes interwoven with sweet black currant and cherry fruit, lead pencil, and smoke. A lovely texture, sweet fruit, medium to full body, and excellent purity as well as elegance suggest it will drink well for 12-15 years. It may merit an outstanding rating after 2-3 years of bottle age.

Named after the Fieuzal family who owned this estate until 1851, today Ch. de Fieuzal is owned by the Quinns. Since their arrival in 2001, the Irish family has restored the property and built its reputation for quality.
