Lovely, rich aromas of berries and dark chocolate rise from this medium-bodied wine, with firm tannins and zingy acidity. It needs some time. try in 1999. James Suckling,Wine Spectator 1997.

Before bottling, the 1994 De Fieuzal appeared to be as good, if not better than the 1993, but two bottles tasted after bottling exhibited moldy, wet cardboard-like noses that made judgment impossible. It is rare to get two corked bottles in a row, so I will retaste this wine and report on it later this year. Feb 1997, www.robertparker.com
