Tasting notes
This wine has tasted fully mature since bottling, yet it has lost none of its sweet, creamy, curranty fruit or tobacco, herb-scented aromatics. Always a soft, low acid wine, it continues to provide delicious drinking in a supple style. Recent vintages of La Louviere have been more forcefully constructed, with greater extract, color, and intensity. Because of that, they are less charming in their youth. The 1982 should be drunk over the next 4-5 years. Tasted 3 times since bottling with consistent notes.

About the producer

Wine has been made at this estate since the 1300s, but its modern history begins when the Lurton family purchased it in 1965. The property was in disrepair, but the Lurtons have restored the château, winery and vineyards.
