Tasting notes
The ruby-colored 1998 Pommard Les Vignots has exceptional depth to its blackberry and black cherry aromatics. Medium-to-full-bodied and concentrated, this velvety-textured wine has loads of red and black fruits in its personality. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. Full medium-red. Reduced aromas of raspberry, game and leather. Sweet, lush and dense, but could use a bit more verve. Finishes with thoroughly ripe, mounting tannins.
About the producer

For many, Domaine Leroy represents the pinnacle of fine Burgundy. Owned and run by the legendary Lalou Bize-Leroy, the domaine in Vosne-Romanée is one strand of the Leroy empire, along with Maison Leroy and Domaine d’Auvenay.
