This impressively complete wine offers up very ripe aromas of spice, earth and game that introduce strikingly rich, naturally sweet and mouth coating big-bodied flavors that explode on the formidably long finish. This is a classy wine with absolutely superb complexity, impeccable balance and almost uncanny presence, all delivered with grace and power. Be prepared to be patient however as this will need plenty of time. A 'wow' wine that possess excellent verve, especially within the context of the '09 vintage. Tasted out of barrel at the Domaine. This is garlanded with an absolutely stunning bouquet, so pure and perfumed with blueberry, cassis, orange essence, fresh apricots and umeboshi. Brilliant definition. The palate is medium-bodied with intense dark cherry fruit vying for attention against the vibrant mineralite that lends so much precision on the finish.
