Score 94/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2012
Sexy, wild, soil-driven aromas of strawberry, clove, mace and flowers; at once feral and civilized in a quintessential Burgundy way. Broad, lush and sweet, but with excellent inner-mouth energy and sappiness to the complex flavors of red fruits, dried flowers, coffee and cocoa. This wonderfully rich, salty wine saturates the palate on the very long, sweet aftertaste. Suave tannins make this easy to taste today, but it has all the elements for a long life in bottle.
