Mid crimson. Very light nose that grew in the glass. Quite a substantial whack of dusty fruit on the palate. Firm with marked acidity but there is more fruit in the middle than on the Haut-Médocs. (JR)
Earthy underbrush, sweet and sour cherry and red currant characteristics along with a hint of truffles are present in this straightforward, austere Bordeaux. Drink it over the next decade.
Evolved nose but a bit raw on the palate. Lots of acidity. Very classic! A little bit raw on the finish though. (JR)
About the producer

Louis Gaspard d’Estournel purchased Cos Labory in 1847 and in tribute to this history, the Reybier family (owners of Cos d’Estournel today) acquired the Saint-Estèphe estate and its 35 hectares of vines in 2023.
