Mid crimson. Scented and fruity and sweet. Again, quite simple. St-Estèphe grip on the finish. Very mineral and stone-sucking. True to type! (JR)

Dark crimson. Some rather odd sweetness on the nose. Very fresh and actually a much truer wine than some of the more tarted up wines. 2007 has made almost exaggerated St-Estèphes! Very pure, clean and bracing. (JR)
Good bright ruby-red. Black cherry, meat and dark chocolate on the nose. Moderately sweet in the mouth; in a cool style but with good flavor intensity. Very firm and very St. Estephe. Finishes with ripe tannins. (An earlier sample seemed less ripe and distinctly clenched, even a bit dry on the end.)

About the producer

Louis Gaspard d’Estournel purchased Cos Labory in 1847 and in tribute to this history, the Reybier family (owners of Cos d’Estournel today) acquired the Saint-Estèphe estate and its 35 hectares of vines in 2023.
