1983 Riesling Vendange Tardive

Very youthful color. Powdered stone and honey aromas. Quite dry and distinctly hard-edged in the mouth, with youthful flavors compromised by a faint mushroom note. This is very dry and will go on for years, but will it ever truly blossom? Etienne told me this wine was from very late-picked grapes that overripened without much help from noble rot. Today, he said, this would probably be bottled as riesling Jubilee.
