Tasting notes
The compelling 2003 Hermitage Chevalier de Sterimberg is a blend of two-thirds Roussanne and one-third Marsanne, it tastes like a blend of liqueur of rocks, licorice, honeysuckle, and waxy orange marmalade. Given this cuvee’s low acidity, it is hard to know how it will age, but I would not be surprised to see it last for 20 or more years. Importer: Frederick Wildman, New York, NY; tel. (212) 355-0700

(two-thirds marsanne and one-third roussanne) Very pale color. Superripe aromas of exotic fruits, orange peel and menthol. Big, rich and exotic, but kept fresh by sound acids and vibrant notes of orange peel and minerals. This has lovely fruit and cut for this heatwave vintage. Finishes with excellent length. Drink this young, or forget it for ten years.
