Tasting notes

Tasting notes
Score 87/100 · Robert Parker

Until the advent of the 1989, this was my favorite vintage of Clos du Clocher. The wine has reached full maturity, yet should continue to drink well until 1997. Dark ruby/garnet, with only slight amber at the edge, this extroverted wine offers up a bouquet filled with scents of roasted chestnuts, ripe plums, and licorice. In the mouth, the wine is opulent, generously endowed, with low acidity, and a lush, heady finish. It makes for a seductive tasting experience. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 11/90.
