Score 86/100 · Drink 2023-2028, Neal Martin, Aug 2023
The 1973 Gazin has a lot of undergrowth and peaty scents on the light but respectable nose. Medium-bodied, it comes across like a rustic Rhône, yet it's still fresh and pretty on its faded finish. Pomerol seemed to buck the trend in this awful growing season, and serving this blind to surrounding eminent First Growth winemakers, they were even more surprised by how well this Gazin shows.
