On Thursday 26th October we’re hosting a special dinner with two of the most exciting young winemakers from two of our favourite winemaking regions, Burgundy and Barolo.
The future icons of Burgundy and Barolo with Alvina Pernot and Carlotta Rinaldi
When: 7.30 for 8.30pm, Thursday 26th October 2023
Where: Langosteria, Via Savona 10 , Milan
Price: €1,500
Both Alvina Pernot and Carlotta Rinaldi were born into fine winemaking dynasties at Domaine Paul Pernot and Giuseppe Rinaldi, respectively. After growing up amongst the vines, the two women learned from the masters of the craft within their own families and beyond, before destiny called. Today, they are both producing exceptional wines and continuing incredible lineages of vignerons in their regions.
At this incredible nine-course dinner, held at one of the finest seafood restaurants in the world, we’ll have the opportunity to explore the remarkable wines from the properties closest to Alvina and Carlotta’s hearts.
As one of the largest domaines in Puligny-Montrachet, Domaine Paul Pernot has been instrumental in maintaining the appellation’s reputation for complex, expansive, mineral-tinged Chardonnay. Similarly, Giuseppe Rinaldi has been a true guardian of the Barolo appellation, retaining traditional winemaking practices as well as promoting the different single-vineyards expressions of the region.
During the course of the evening, we’ll taste Rinaldi’s top single-vineyard Crus of Brunate. We will then have the opportunity to taste a mini flight of Alvina Pernot’s wines – bottled exclusively in magnum, before settling in to five mini verticals of Clos des Folatières and Folatières from her family’s legendary estate, Domaine Paul Pernot.
It promises to be a fantastic evening, exploring these special vineyards and their fascinating histories with the two women who know them best. Please find full details – including the wines on show – in the attached.
