The 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Poruzots unwinds in the glass with notions of pear, citrus zest, white flowers and toasted almonds, framed by a touch of light reduction. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, it's concentrated and precise, with chalky structure and a saline finish.

Sulfited the week prior to my visit, the 2019 Meursault Poruzots 1er Cru nevertheless showed impressive clarity on the nose of honeysuckle, lemon thyme and walnut aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a sappy entry, a fine bead of acidity and a little more precision than the Meursault-Blagny by direct comparison. Likewise, it will require some bottle maturation, but there is good potential here.
