Score 94/100 · Drink 1994-2014, Robert Parker, Aug 1994

Last Tasted 5/93 Similar to the other two single vineyard offerings from Diamond Creek in 1976, this blockbuster, nearly opaque-colored wine offers an intense fragrance of cedar, spices, and rich cassis fruit. Although a slight roasted element is present, the wine is not over-ripe. It is staggeringly rich and highly extracted, with its fabulous richness of fruit balancing out the high tannin level. While the wine remains thick, young, and unevolved, it is well-balanced and capable of another 10-20 years of aging potential.
