Shows great Gevrey typicality, iron and ferrous with black cherry, dried cranberry and just a touch of nutmeg spice. Still feels very young, yet has a succulent feel to the fruit and plenty of earthy, leafy notes. (AC)

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Symphonie is a blend taken from 23 tiny parcels, on a scale that is only found in Burgundy. An intensely floral bouquet melds into a dark cherry, spice, leather and tobacco in a supple, easygoing village-level Burgundy that will drink well right out of the gate.
