Tasting notes
Palish medium red. Musky redcurrant, smoke and menthol aromas, plus a suggestion of candied fruits. Sweet and round, with a rather palate-caressing texture for the year. Offers more density than the young 2007, and yet the red fruit flavors of this low-pH wine are a bit youthfully introverted right now. Needs air.

Bright, dark red. Reticent but pure aromas of cassis, blackberry and violet. Juicy, lively and tight; less sweet and more rocky than the Hauts de Beaux Monts, perhaps more typical of the style of the vintage. Finishes with a firm tannic spine and a hint of leather. Perhaps a bit hardened today by the gas, following a late malo, but this also gives an impression of higher acidity. This should evolve slowly. From calcaire soil with a bit of clay.
