The 2020 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru conveys a sense of presence on the nose, a Les Clos that wants to be noticed. Orchard fruit, touches of melted candle wax and a flint to the fore. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, quite saline, a hint of wild honey underlying the citrus fruit with a linear finish. It just misses a bit of flair and mineralité , though it should improve in bottle. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.

The 2020 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a light, stony bouquet that does not really translate the power this vineyard can give its wines. The palate is better, with a citric entry and good acidity, and though it finishes a little short, this should fill out with time.
