The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a delightful bouquet with bruised apple, sea spray and touches of wet wool. The palate is tangy on the entry, fully mature and saline. There's a slight lack of freshness on the finish, suggesting this should be drunk soon.

Low-key putty nose and massive acidity. Not that much extract. Pretty mild and self-effacing. Taut, a bit tart and, at this point, a little simple. (JR)
The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet Villages has a crisp, green apple and freshly sliced pear-scented bouquet that opens nicely in the glass. The palate is clean and fresh with a keen line of acidity, not as complex as the 2014 tasted alongside, but sporting satisfying weight and a sense of earthiness towards the finish. Enjoy this over the next 4 to 5 years.
(bottled in March of this year, with the crus following in April): Very pale, bright straw-yellow. Sexy aromas of peach, white truffle, porcini and brioche. Quite dry and minerally; still a bit tight but shows very good energy and grip. "This wine may age like the 2008," said Carillon, adding that the 2008 premier crus are not quite ready to drink but that the village wine is good now.
