Tasting notes
The 2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Malconsorts opens in the glass with notes of plums, sweet exotic spices and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and vibrant palate that's quite youthfully structured, as is often the case with this site.

Just above the grands crus. Bichot is the largest owner of Malconsorts. 30% whole bunch. Aged for 17–19 months in oak barrels (40% new). Certified organic (Ecocert). Cask sample. Mid crimson. Not a showy nose but it suggests some hidden depths. Racy and pacy. Wait for this to bloom. Quite a bit of optimistic fine tannin on the long, throbbing finish. Good potential! (JR)

Aromas of violets and black cherries lead to juicy, ripe and utterly appealing black-fruit flavors accented by star anise, blueberries and raspberry jam. It balances ripe, delicious fruit with vivid acidity on a medium-to-full body for a silky, elegant expression that keeps you sipping. Coming from a great neighborhood near La Tache, it’s an outstanding wine to indulge in now or to drink from 2028, when it will begin to gain maturity.
