Bright medium red. Musky, sauvage aromas of red cherry, cherry skin, game and leather. Rich and full, offering considerable fat to its ripe flavors of redcurrant, musky herbs, smoke and game. Finishes with round, dusty tannins, a hint of menthol and very good length but today I'm not finding the definition or grip--or minerality--that a barrel sample displayed a year ago.

Noticeable though not overt wood influence sets off a very ripe nose composed of liqueur of plum, cassis and wild raspberry aromas. There is excellent richness to the round and relatively powerful medium weight flavors blessed with an abundance of dry extract that buffers the otherwise very firm, long and serious finish. This is also notably austere and extremely compact at present and as such it seems reasonably clear that it will not be a good candidate for early drinking. *Don't Miss! Outstanding*
