Tasting notes
The white label 2020 Valtuille from different parts of the village fermented with 20% in stainless steel and matured in well-seasoned 225-liter oak barrels for one year. It has 13.47% alcohol and a good pH and level of acidity. 2020 is a more rustic and earthier vintage, a year that Raúl Pérez thinks is quite representative of Valtuille, and the 2021s are more elegant and finer. The two wines reflect quite faithfully the character of the year. 7,300 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2022.

The 2020 El Castro de Valtuille Mencía Joven fermented in stainless steel and matured for one to three months in used 5,000-liter oak vats—all the parajes separately—and then was blended into one wine. It's varietal and fresh, showcasing the juicy character of the clay soils from Valtuille. It's more fruit-driven, more grapey. 100,000 bottles produced. This is 85% to 90% of the volume of the winery.
