Tasting notes
AP number 30 21. Subtle, herby citrus and lightly smoky. Intense grapefruit on the palate – tight and precise. More austere than some, with length and purity the keys. (JH)

The 2020 Niederberg Helden Riesling GG shows a coolish, even minty nose of broken slate and ripe, rich and intense fruit. Full-bodied, dense and structured on the palate, this is a dense and more muscular Helden that needs some years to refine and open up. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022.
Pale greenish straw. Pungent nose of spontaneous fermentation and then great richness on the palate. A real charmer with great power. There's something that suggests metal here – in a good way. Though no shortage of firm fruit. A savoury wine that deserves savouring. Very long. (JR)
Slightly funky, but brimming with blossom and berry aromas, this is concentrated, finely etched and super-mineral, with a breathtaking finish that makes you think you are drinking slate. Drinkable now, but best from 2023.
