The 2020 Côte de Nuits-Villages reveals aromas of cherries, sweet berries and licorice, followed by a medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated palate. This is another cuvée that's weathered the extremes of the vintage chez Rouget quite well.

The 2020 Côtes de Nuits Village has a lovely nose with red berry fruit with just a touch of VA lending it lift. No problem there. The palate is more refined than the aromatics, quite spicy, almost gourmand with a rich and quite powerful finish. A Côtes de Nuits with ambition, for sure, though that aromatics flirt with sur-maturité so I will be prudent with my score.
