A complex concoction of dried herbs, damp earth, spice box, and sweet cherries and currants makes for an interesting aromatic profile. In the mouth, the wine is medium-bodied with excellent concentration, firm tannin, and plenty of punch as well as length. If it all comes together, it should merit an outstanding score in 2-3 years. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2020+.

Good full, dark red. Sexy aromas of redcurrant, smoked meat, minerals and tobacco. Suave on entry, then fine-grained and bright in the middle palate, with silky flavors of plum, truffle and game complemented by a lightly herbal element. This spreads out nicely to coat the palate on the back end. This has turned out well.

Good deep red. Liqueur-like aromas of black cherry, dark berries and violet, with a lightly stewed note. Fat, rich and ripe yet at the same time somewhat cool, even austere, with a geranium note and firm underlying minerality giving the wine a faint dryness. Finishes with dusty tannins.
