(50% vendange entier): Full ruby-red. Discreet spicy aromas of blackberry, licorice and cocoa powder, with hints of minerals and peony. Extremely intense but very backward, showing an almost youthfully bitter quality to the black fruit, licorice and mint flavors. Most impressive today on the very long finish, which features substantial dusty tannins and conveys an impression of tightly coiled energy. This wine may well need a decade of bottle aging.
