Vivid ruby-red. A heady mineral- and spice-accented bouquet displays candied red berries, lavender, incense and cola, with a hint of smokiness in the background. Pure and sharply focused, offering pliant raspberry liqueur and floral pastille flavors that are lifted and sharpened by a touch of bitter blood orange. Finishes sweet and penetrating, with supple tannins and lingering spice and mineral tones. This energetic but deeply flavored pinot, which comes from the winery's estate vineyard, checks in at just 12.5% alcohol, which is decidedly low as Maggie Harrison's wines go.
