Score 92/100 · Drink 2011-2020, Jay S Miller, Wine Advocate, Feb 2009

The 2006 Greenock Shiraz comes from one of the estate’s young vineyards but you would never know this on taste. It spent 18 months in hogsheads, 20% new American, 5% new French, and the balance seasoned French and American. It is a glass-coating purple color with an expressive bouquet of smoke, mineral, bacon, and blueberry. Layered, bordering on opulent, the wine has superior depth of flavor, plenty of savory spice notes, and a lengthy finish. There is enough ripe tannin to support 3-4 years of additional cellaring. It should be at its best from 2011 to 2020. Importer: Dan Philips, The Grateful Palate, Oxnard, CA; tel. (805) 278-9095; www.kalleske.com
