(15.8% alcohol) Superripe aromas of roasted berries, mocha and dark chocolate, plus a hint of eucalyptus. Huge, dense and broad; a massive wine with almost port-like confectionery ripeness. A bit monolithic today and in need of a few years of bottle aging. Finishes very long, with suave, fine tannins and a sweet note of chocolate.

The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Vineyard reveals a powerful, ripe, California-styled personality. It boasts lavish quantities of black currant fruit intermixed with tobacco leaf, vanilla, smoke, and earth characteristics.
