Tasted blind. Neutral nose. Nicely balanced fruit and acid on the palate. Quite a bit of grip. A substantial wine whose current fault is a lack of aroma but the palate suggests it may develop one eventually. Good persistence. (JR)

Spicey red and black fruits, smoked tobacco, and loamy earth all emerge from the 2021 Château Bouscaut, a medium-bodied, round, supple, delicious 2021 that has ripe tannins and a layered style that will evolve gracefully for a decade.
The 2021 Bouscaut has a rather conservative nose, with modest blackberry and briar scents and a hint of black olive compote, but there is no underripeness here. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. Fresh and clean, this is sapid and quite linear in style, with a composed and refined finish. This is above my expectations and might age with style.
The 2021 Bouscaut possesses a shy, slightly green bouquet with aromas of cassis, dark berries and meat, followed by a moderately weighted and incisive palate with structuring tannins and a green, extracted finish.
