Tasting notes
A flattering wine, the 1989 is nearly as structured and concentrated as the 1988. If you like wonderfully round, hedonistic, soft, alcoholic, luscious St.-Emilions, this super-ripe, heady, and voluptuously textured wine will offer many thrills. Anticipated maturity: Now-2001.

Wonderful. This is a concentrated, earthy red with lots going on. Deep dark-ruby color. Fresh aromas of blackberries, dried herbs and spices. Full-bodied and chewy, with lots of rustic tannins and a long, tobacco aftertaste.--1989 Bordeaux horizontal. Best from 2001 through 2008. – James Suckling , Wine Spectator 1999
