The 2019 Zinfandel Ueberroth Vineyard is another stellar wine in this range from Turley. Succulent dark cherry, plum, mocha, leather, spice and dried flowers are all amplified in this potent, deeply layered Paso Zinfandel. The 2019 is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. Don't miss it. (AG)

Ueberroth is one of the oldest of Turley’s Zinfandel vineyards. Located just a few miles north-west of Pesenti, you can smell the Pacific Ocean air from the top of the vineyard. These ungrafted, head-trained vines are planted on very steep limestone slopes. The high pH of the soil makes for a very high-acid wine, elevating the ripe fruit flavours from this historic certified organic vineyard. The wine is fermented with ambient yeast. 80% of the wine is aged for 15 months in used oak barriques, of which 80% are French (the rest American). Savoury nose and with a spine of glamorous, polished fruit. Really quite sophisticated and fresh. (JR)
The 2019 Zinfandel Ueberroth Vineyard, medium ruby-purple in color, explodes with gregarious stone fruit and berry preserves aromas, with earthy accents. The palate is silky and deeply fruited, with fresh, tricolored fruits and a perfumed, fresh finish. 2,052 cases produced.
The 2019 Zinfandel Ueberroth Vineyard is a powerhouse. It will appeal most to readers who enjoy potent, rich wines. Inky dark fruit, leather, spice, tobacco and dried herbs add to the wine's somber personality. As always, this old-vine Paso Robles conveys tremendous power, heft and substance.
