Tasting notes
The 2019 Zinfandel Bedrock Vineyard is a potent, brooding wine that really captures the personality of this Sonoma Valley site. Dark fruit, gravel, cured meats, incense and licorice all bring out the richer, more virile side of Zinfandel. The 2019 is a powerhouse, as wines from Bedrock tend to be. I find the 2019 quite a bit more closed than it was earlier in the year. That won't be a problem in time.

The medium ruby colored 2019 Zinfandel Bedrock Vineyard has deep scents of tar, earth, crushed blackberries and aniseed with a streak of graphite. Medium-bodied, the palate offers broody, earth-laced fruits with a grainy supporting frame and great freshness, finishing long. This should age well in the cellar over the next decade. 330 cases produced.
The 2019 Zinfandel Bedrock Vineyard is one of the classiest wines I have ever tasted from this renowned Sonoma Valley site. Bright, punchy and full-bodied, the 2019 captures all of the intensity that is typical of this site, while avoiding the brooding power that dominates in so many other bottlings. This is the first vintage to incorporate dollops of Carignane to complement a core of Zinfandel/Petite Sirah and Alicante.
